In June 2008 I received a unique word from the Lord. He spoke to me from Exodus 33:7-11. It was the scenario where Moses pitched a tent outside the camp to worship God. All the people knew that God was with Moses because they stood outside their own homes and watched the pillar of cloud descend and hover at the door of the tent.
While I was reading this passage, I felt like the Holy Spirit told me that this is what we do as prophets and prophetic people. We spend time with God and then find “somewhere” to share our revelation. We do most of this outside the camp. The camp is the church and we have been hovering outside the church with our revelations and prophetic insights. God told me to flatten the tent and take the presence of God back into the camp where the people are. To me this spoke of the training and equipping that I have been doing for many years through Crocus Ministries. Most of this training took place at events that we organised mainly “outside the camp”. God said that we should take the training and prophetic equipping back to the church.
This new information from the Holy Spirit caused Crocus Ministries to rethink the vision. Many things have changed in the church and in society. Crocus Ministries used to have four day camps, three full day conferences and a number of six-day season schools. These were anointed and awesome, but all took place “outside the camp”. They bore fruit and were successful, but when God changes the plan, you have to follow His direction.
The church is the camp. The church has the responsibility for the prophetic development of the people. We as prophets and prophetic people are called to equip the saints inside the church. By doing this the Bride of Christ is being made ready. We have to work alongside the pastors, apostles, evangelists and teachers to adorn the Bride with the clothing she needs.
